Join Bold Hilaire for an act workshop guaranteed to give you confidence and bring more uniqueness and artistry to your work to move you towards booking the gig of your dreams.
Sessions will be held at Chaos Studios, a comfortable movement studio located conveniently in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Classes will offer strategies for unlocking your creativity and avoiding "artists block", practical choreography advice, methods for perfecting your craft and finding movement that works for your body (even if you don't come from a dance background), how to stand out and find your unique voice, how to respectfully and professionally network in the burlesque community, how to book the gig of your dreams and how to use social media and the web to promote yourself. The class consists of 4 four-hour sessions and additional optional field trips in the evenings and on the weekends, to see shows to discuss in class the next week.
Four weeks of classes will end in a paid performance showcase at Parkside Lounge, which will be professionally documented with a two-camera shoot and still photographs. You will also receive a professional performance photo/headshot, good for use in show promotions and to send to producers. Bold Hilaire bio and former student testimonials here.
Cost: $400, breakable into installments or $200 if you attend the critique on August 4. Other discounts for Brooklyn burlesque performers and two full scholarships available, please email for more information on installment payments and discounts/scholarships.
